Due to the continuing impact of the COVID19 public health emergency, Lafayette Convention and Visitors  Commission is requesting approval of the proposed emergency financing for the continuity of essential government functions. Although the total effects of the emergency are not yet fully known, they are expected to have a significant impact on the finances of the Commission.

Staff has verified the legal authority to incur the debt, receipt of the attached letter, and receipt of a bank commitment letter dated August 17, 2020 from Iberia Bank. It is on this basis, the Staff recommends approval of this application contingent upon verification of a supplemental resolution by the Commission revising the security, which was adopted on September 16, 2020.
